English Program For Talented Children

Summary


Learn a new language will contribute to the integral education of Venezuelan students affected by the strong Humanitarian crisis. The creation of an English Programs for Talented children will help the students expand their cultural vision and will prepare them to be more competitive in a global world.


Our English Program for Talented Children is designed to be given to 100 children between the ages of 8 and 12, coming from low-income families and have great musical talent. In this case, Pilot Program

students belong to National Orchestra System.


Objectives


  • Be more competitive. Through learning English as a new language, it will be possible for the student be educated with a broader worldview

  • Promote values. The students learn not only English but also learn to relate with his classmates in an affective and respectful way

  • Project the talent of each student. The students will receive communicative tools that will open a range of possibilities in their musical and professional careers

  • Expand our commitment. Establish English Program in several cities in Venezuela. We looking for sponsors to finance new centers to begging this calendar year as soon as the required resources are available.


Partner organizations


Our English Program for Talented Children is designed to provide English language instruction free of charge to 100 children between 8 and 12 years of age.


We will work with children belonging to the National Orchestra System. They already have demonstrable musical talent and socioeconomic study that will be reviewed and validated by CVEF. In the future we are able to work with Allied foundations to cover another quantity of children.


Program activities


  • The benefited children will receive English classes for 2 hours once a week. They will be organized in different groups according to their ages, with the purpose to reach a proficiency level A2 (Beginner) in the English language.

  • We will provide one meal per day, because today many children do not have the resources to eat 3 times a day.

  • Books, notebooks and school supplies will be provided for the fulfillment of their training.

  • The classes will have didactic and audiovisual resources for the use and improvement of learning.

  • Classes will be entirely in English, and a communicational approach will be implemented to help the children express their ideas and thoughts in the foreign language.

  • The facilitators will have playful and didactic materials allowing the student to achieve their learning in a didactic and meaningful way.
