Hope for children with hydrocephalus
Hydrocephalus, also called water in the brain, is a condition where there is an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid within the cavities (ventricles) of the brain.
The build-up of fluid is often caused by an obstruction that prevents proper fluid drainage. Excess of this fluid can damage brain tissue and can cause a variety of impairments in brain function and even cause death.
The purpose of this fund is to provide a pediatric peritoneal bypass for each child and equip them with the proper medical supplies for their upcoming surgery.
The families of these babies are in need and have the urgent necessity to raise the funds for their children.
This fundraising campaign is promoted by the ENGAGEMENT FOUNDATION, in collaboration with the Regala Una Esperanza Foundation, located in the city of Maturín, whose team is in charge of directly managing the medical interventions with the qualified surgeons and medical staff of the Manuel Núñez Tovar Hospital.
