Education

Sustainable education must seek to provide people of all ages with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary to overcome the interrelated global challenges that we must face.

Education must be transformative and allow us to make informed decisions and act individually and collectively with a view to changing our societies and caring for the planet.

Education is a human right and a force for sustainable development and peace.

Each objective of the 2030 Agenda requires education to equip all people with the necessary knowledge, skills and values that will allow them to live with dignity, build their own lives and contribute to the societies in which they live.

According to UNESCO, today, more than 262 million children and young people are not in school. Six out of ten children have not yet acquired basic literacy and numeracy skills after several years of schooling.

750 million adults are illiterate, something that contributes to poverty and marginalization.
